The annual gathering of the Iranian opposition for a free Iran convened in Villepinte, Paris, in the afternoon of Saturday, July 1, 2017, lasting for 10 hours.
Tens of thousands of supporters and hundreds of distinguished personalities, elected representatives and activists for human and women’s rights activists from U.S., Europe, Asia, Latin America, Africa and Australia participated in the rally in solidarity for a free Iran.
Speakers stressed regime change as the only viable solution not only for a free Iran but to end the crisis in the Middle East and terrorism and extremism.
Keynote speaker the Iranian opposition leader Maryam Rajavi underlined in her speech the three fundamental truths which are significant to obtaining freedom for Iran and establishing peace and tranquility in the Middle East.
Maryam Rajavi said, “The winds of change have started blowing in our homeland. The ruling regime is in disarray and paralyzed as never before.
Iranian society is simmering with discontent and the international community is finally getting closer to the reality that appeasing the ruling theocracy is misguided. The same volatile situation speaks to three fundamental truths for obtaining freedom in Iran, and peace and tranquility in the region. First, the imperative of overthrowing the ruling religious dictatorship.
Second, the regime’s overthrow is within reach. And third, a democratic alternative and an organized resistance exists, which is capable of toppling the theocracy in Iran.”

Iran Regime Are The "Godfathers" of Terror |
London, 3 Jul - Ex-Scottish MEP and Iranian expert, Struan Stevenson, accused Iran of being the “godfather” of terror at a recent conference calling for freedom of the Iranian Regime.
At the Free Iran Gathering last weekend, over 100,000 politicians, activists, and heads of state came together to condemn the Iranian Regime for their support of terrorism and call for the freedom of the Iranian people.
Stevenson said that the world did not know fundamentalist Islamist terrorism until the Iranian Regime seized power until 1979, and now all of the different Islamist terror groups around the world are the result.
He said: “You have Daesh (ISIS), the Taliban, al-Qaeda, al Shabaab, Boko Haram, Hezbollah – they all have difficulties with each other, yet we categorise it in the West as a Sunni/Shiite conflict. It is not. All of these different [factions] who also fight like cats in a sack, they look to Tehran as the godfather of international Islamic fundamentalism.”
However, Stevenson expressed hope that this too shall pass.

Free Iran Gathering 2017: Regime Change Is Iran Is the Only Option |
London, 2 Jul - The overwhelming consensus at the Free Iran Gathering in Paris is that Regime Change in Iran is best for the people of Iran and the world at large, and that this change is coming faster than the Regime thinks.
In her keynote address, Maryam Rajavi, the president of the Iranian Resistance forces (NCRI and MEK), announced that in order to achieve a free and democratic Iran, the Regime must be overthrown.
She told the Free Iran Gathering that this overthrow is not only coming, it is coming soon. She also asserted that the Iranian Resistance, who have been fighting for freedom of the Iranian people since before the 1979 Revolution in which the mullahs took power, is the true force capable of toppling the Regime.
Why must the Regime be overthrown?
The Iranian Regime does not believe in human rights, incarcerates its political opposition, and poses a grave threat to world peace.
The Iranian Regime does not respect its own people and regularly violates their human rights, as evidenced by the 1988 Massacre in which the Iranian Regime killed 30,000 political prisoners, most of whom were members of the MEK.
Giulio Terzi, the Former Foreign Minister of Italy, spoke before the Free Iran gathering to warn the international community not to “forgive or forget” the massacre, in which the Regime tried to exterminate their opposition.
Zinat Mirhashemi, a member of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, and Central Committee member of the Cherik-hay-e Fadaii Khalq Organization of Iran, said: “We must support the movement of justice for the victims of the 1988 massacre.”
The Iranian Regime does not respect the other nation-states of the Middle East, as evidenced by their interference in Syria, Iraq, and Yemen.

Prince Turki: Iranian officials must be ‘brought to justice |
PARIS: Tens of thousands of Iranians gathered in the giant auditorium in Villepente Exhibition Center, near Paris, on Saturday in a massive expression of support urging the world to adopt a firm approach toward the theocratic regime in Iran.
The gathering featured a large and varied selection of speakers from all over the world and across the political spectrum, including Saudi Prince Turki Al-Faisal and a large delegation from the Syrian opposition.
Addressing the conference, Prince Turki Al-Faisal called for Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and Iranian officials to be brought to justice for their “crimes against the Iranian people,” who he described as the “first victims” of the Iranian regime.
He said he was “honored” to be at the event, which was attended by thousands of people who fled “their country because of the dictatorship of the Mullahs’ regime.”
Prince Turki explained that what made Arabs and Iranians brothers, was “not only geography, but the humanitarian relationships.”
He added: “There are Arab tribes that lived in Iran and became families, and there are a lot of Persian families who came (to Saudi Arabia) to perform their pilgrimage and also became our families.”
He said all at the conference “stood together” as they shared a “mutual history” that helped the development of human civilization.
